A private devotion, commonly prayed in the days before Pentecost and through the Easter season, though it may be used at any time. It is not a liturgical office; the Church's own public prayer to the Spirit is found in the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours, and this chaplet is a personal echo of it.

Begin with the Sign of the Cross and an act of contrition. Then pray the five mysteries in order, reading the Scripture named with each: (1) Jesus is conceived by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary; (2) the Spirit of the Lord rests upon Jesus at his baptism; (3) Jesus is led by the Spirit into the desert; (4) the Holy Spirit in the Church at Pentecost; (5) the Holy Spirit dwelling in the souls of the just. For each of the first four mysteries pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and seven Glory Bes. Close the fifth mystery with the Creed, one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and seven Glory Bes.
