DEVOTION
Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary
A devotion of the Catholic faithful
An act of entrusting oneself entirely to Jesus Christ through the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as taught by Saint Louis de Montfort.
background
In his True Devotion to Mary, Saint Louis de Montfort set out the 'holy slavery of love,' giving oneself wholly to Jesus through Mary; it is commonly made after a 33-day preparation of prayer and self-examination ending on a Marian feast.
practice Instructions
Make the 33-day preparation outlined by Saint Louis de Montfort (or Saint Maximilian Kolbe's shorter form): days of emptying oneself of the spirit of the world, knowledge of self, knowledge of Mary, and knowledge of Jesus, then pronounce the act of consecration on a Marian feast and renew it regularly.
