Devotion
The Three Hail Marys
Marian devotion
A simple daily devotion of three Hail Marys in honor of the Blessed Virgin's purity and power, asking her protection from sin.
Background
Recommended by saints such as Saint Anthony of Padua, Saint Mechtilde, and Saint Alphonsus Liguori, the practice entrusts the day and the hour of death to Mary under her titles of power, wisdom, and mercy.
How to practice
Each morning and evening pray three Hail Marys in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking for the grace to avoid mortal sin and for a holy death, often adding the invocation 'O my Mother, preserve me this day (night) from mortal sin.'
