Saint Albert the Great (c. 1200-1280), Dominican bishop and teacher of Saint Thomas Aquinas, mastered every science of his day and helped reconcile Aristotelian philosophy with Christian faith. Declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius XI in 1931.
