Background
Pope Saint Leo I (c. 400-461) defended the orthodox faith of the Incarnation in his Tome, accepted at the Council of Chalcedon (451), and famously turned back Attila the Hun from Rome. Declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XIV in 1754.
