The declaration on the unicity and salvific universality of Jesus Christ and the Church, ratified by John Paul II and published on the Feast of the Transfiguration during the Great Jubilee. Against relativistic theories that would treat the revelation in Christ as one among several complementary revelations, it restates the fullness and definitiveness of that revelation, the unicity of Christ's saving mediation, the inseparability of Christ and the Church, and the single Church of Christ subsisting in the Catholic Church. It affirms that God's grace can reach those outside the visible Church while insisting that whatever grace they receive comes from Christ.
