Origin
In the late nineteenth century the former occultist and convert Bartolo Longo enshrined an image of Our Lady of the Rosary in the Italian town near the ancient ruins of Pompeii, composing the celebrated Supplication to the Queen of the Holy Rosary prayed by millions.
Why it matters
The title binds Marian devotion to the contemplation of Christ's mysteries in the Rosary, honoring Mary as the Queen of Victories who leads sinners to conversion.
