Saint Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591), an Italian nobleman who renounced his inheritance to enter the Society of Jesus, died at the age of twenty-three after contracting plague while nursing the sick in Rome. Canonized in 1726, he is a patron of Catholic youth and students.
