Biography
Saint Bartholomew, often identified with Nathanael in the Gospel of John, was one of the Twelve Apostles. Tradition holds that he carried the Gospel to Armenia, where he was flayed and beheaded for the faith. His relics are venerated in Rome on the Tiber Island.
