biography
Saint Camillus de Lellis (1550-1614), a former soldier and gambler, converted and founded the Camillians (the Ministers of the Sick) to care for the sick and dying with great tenderness. Canonized in 1746, he is a patron of the sick, nurses, and hospitals.
