Saint Casimir (1458-1484), a prince of Poland and Lithuania, lived a short life marked by prayer, chastity, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the poor, refusing a throne won by unjust war. Canonized in 1521, he is a patron of Poland and Lithuania.
