SAINT
saint-christopher
A saint of the Catholic Church
biography
Saint Christopher was a third-century martyr venerated in both East and West. Pious legend tells that this giant of a man sought to serve the greatest king, and a hermit taught him to carry travelers across a dangerous river; one day he bore a child who grew unbearably heavy — Christ carrying the weight of the world — and so received the name Christopher ('Christ-bearer'). He is the beloved patron of travelers.
