SAINT
saint-cornelius
A saint of the Catholic Church
biography
Saint Cornelius (died 253) was pope during a fierce persecution and a controversy over the readmission of Christians who had lapsed under torture. With the support of Saint Cyprian he upheld the Church's mercy toward repentant sinners against rigorist schism, and he died in exile for the faith. He is honored with Saint Cyprian.
