Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen (1577-1622), a lawyer who became a Capuchin friar known as 'the advocate of the poor,' preached the faith in Switzerland during the religious strife of his day and was martyred by a hostile mob. He is honored as a patron of lawyers.
