biography
Saint John Chrysostom (c. 347-407), Archbishop of Constantinople and Doctor of the Church, was surnamed 'Golden-Mouthed' for his eloquent preaching. He called the faithful to charity and reform, denounced abuses of wealth and power, and gave his name to the principal Divine Liturgy of the Byzantine Church. He died in exile for his fearless witness.
