biography
Saint John Fisher (1469-1535), Bishop of Rochester and a renowned theologian, was the only English bishop to refuse the Oath of Supremacy under King Henry VIII, and was beheaded for it. Canonized in 1935, he is commemorated with his friend St. Thomas More.
