biography
Saint Josaphat Kuntsevych (c. 1580-1623), a Basilian monk and Archbishop of Polotsk, labored for the reunion of the Eastern churches with Rome and was martyred by a mob opposed to that union. The first Eastern saint formally canonized by Rome, he is a patron of efforts for the unity of the Church.
