Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the Twelve Apostles, traditionally identified as a relative of the Lord. He preached the Gospel in Judea, Mesopotamia, and Persia, where he was martyred with the Apostle Simon. He is universally invoked as the patron of desperate and hopeless causes.
