Saint Lawrence of Brindisi (1559-1619), a Capuchin friar and Doctor of the Church, was a brilliant linguist and preacher who served the Church across Europe as a diplomat and reformer. Master of many languages and of the Scriptures, he is honored as the 'Apostolic Doctor' for his tireless preaching of the Gospel.
