Saint Pancras (c. 289-304) was a young Roman convert, only about fourteen, who was beheaded for refusing to sacrifice to the pagan gods during the persecution of Diocletian. Venerated since antiquity, he is one of the youthful martyrs whose courage in the face of death has inspired Christians for centuries.
