Biography
Saint Patrick (c. 385-461) was the apostle of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain, captured by Irish raiders as a teenager and enslaved for six years, he escaped, became a priest and bishop, and returned to evangelize Ireland. He used the shamrock to explain the Trinity. His Confessio and Letter to the Soldiers of Coroticus survive.
