biography
Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne (1769-1852) was a French Religious of the Sacred Heart who at the age of forty-nine sailed to the American frontier, founding schools and serving in Missouri. Late in life she prayed so constantly among the Potawatomi that they named her 'Woman Who Prays Always.' She was canonized in 1988.
