biography
Saint Thomas More (1478-1535), Lord Chancellor of England and author of Utopia, refused to acknowledge King Henry VIII as head of the Church in England and was beheaded for his fidelity to the pope and his conscience. Canonized in 1935, he is a patron of statesmen and lawyers.
